Power Cut at Supertech Ecovillage-1: NPCL Action Over ₹1.5 Crore Unpaid Electricity Bill in Greater Noida West
NPCL Disconnects Power at Supertech Ecovillage-1: Residents Demand Accountability
On Friday night, residents of Supertech Ecovillage-1 in Greater Noida West experienced a sudden power outage, after Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL) pulled the plug over an outstanding ₹1.5 crore electricity bill. The move, which caught residents completely off guard, has thrown daily life into disarray and triggered serious concerns about both management and transparency.
Electricity has been disconnected since the monday morning and almost all the towers currently running on Digital Generators, but the real question is, how long the residents can go on like this ?
NPCL representatives stated that the society’s management had received repeated notices and warnings regarding the overdue payments, but after months of no action, the company went ahead with the disconnection. This development has left over a thousand households without basic services, leaving families, especially those with children and elderly members, facing real hardship.
What’s more troubling for many residents is the silence from both the builder and the Resident Welfare Association (RWA). Despite the chaos and the mounting frustration among homeowners, neither party has released a statement or stepped up with a solution. This lack of communication has only made the situation worse, fueling suspicions about mismanagement of funds.
Residents say they pay their electricity and maintenance charges regularly, yet there’s zero clarity on how those funds are managed. With elevators and security systems out of operation, concerns around safety and accountability have only intensified. Many are now demanding a transparent audit and explanation from both the builder and the RWA about the fate of their payments.
If the situation drags on, residents are preparing to escalate the issue with a public protest, seeking immediate restoration of power and full disclosure of all outstanding bills.
Bottom line: NPCL’s strict action has exposed deep cracks in the management of Supertech Ecovillage-1. Until the builder and RWA step forward with answers, tensions are likely to remain high, and the community’s faith in its leadership will keep eroding.
