Greater Noida (West), June 27, 2025 – An alarming altercation unfolded in the upscale Supertech Ecovillage 1 society late Thursday evening, when a resident’s complaint about a protracted power outage allegedly provoked a violent response from a security guard.
Residents claim the power supply had been disrupted for two to three hours. Seeking answers, one resident approached the security desk, where what appeared to be a routine complaint turned explosive. Viral videos on social media depict the guard attacking the resident with ferocious strikes. In one clip, several people witnessed repeatedly battered victims, with children present at the scene.
An ABP Live report confirms that multiple security and maintenance staff joined in the assault, using sticks and kicks after residents demanded explanations for the blackout. “One man held my collar as other people hit me with sticks. I was also slapped… my entire body is swollen. My children were crying in the corner,” one survivor told reporters of ABP.
Responding swiftly, Greater Noida police have registered multiple FIRs and arrested four accused, identified as security and maintenance staff members. DCP Shakti Mohan Awasthi stated that charges of assault are being pressed and investigations are ongoing.
The incident has triggered widespread outrage, fueling criticism of both the society’s security arrangements and its crisis-management policies. Residents are demanding urgent measures, including staff re-training in grievance handling, deployment of body-worn cameras, and clear escalation protocols for power or service disruptions.
Society management has yet to issue an official statement. Meanwhile, the police investigation continues, and community leaders are expected to convene a meeting soon to review security protocols and safeguard against future incidents.
