As the sacred month of Sawan continues and Kanwar Yatra 2025 draws millions of Shiva devotees across the country, Peethadheeshwar Bal Mukund Acharya has raised strong demands to preserve the sanctity and cleanliness of the holy route.
Speaking to the media, Acharya Ji stressed that the Kanwar Marg (route) must remain free from meat and liquor shops, and all fruit and food vendors must have verified identification displayed to ensure transparency and accountability.
Key Demands by Bal Mukund Acharya:
-
Complete Ban on Meat & Liquor Shops
Shops selling non-vegetarian food or alcohol should be completely shut down on and around the Kanwar Yatra route, especially near temples and Shiv temples. -
Vendor Identification Mandatory
Every food stall or fruit vendor operating along the route should display identification clearly, ensuring devotee safety and authenticity. -
Sanitation Around Temples
There should be 2–3 scheduled cleanups daily around all temples and rest points during the Yatra. The environment must be fragrant and sacred for all pilgrims. -
Strict Fines for Littering
Individuals or vendors causing pollution or dumping waste near temples should face immediate penalties or challans, reinforcing the spiritual and hygienic environment.
Why These Demands Matter
The Kanwar Yatra is not just a religious pilgrimage but a massive cultural movement of devotion, discipline, and dedication. With millions walking on foot to collect Ganga Jal for Lord Shiva, cleanliness and spiritual decorum along the route become vital.
Acharya Bal Mukund Ji’s demands are being echoed by several religious leaders and civil bodies who are urging the administration to ensure that the purity of the holy month is preserved.
