Noida fire news, Noida Sector 62 fire, girl rescued in fire, Noida society fire incident, July 2025 fire accident
Noida, July 5, 2025 —A major fire broke out in a residential society in Noida Sector 62 on Saturday morning, triggering panic among residents and prompting a swift response from fire officials. A 15-year-old girl, who was reportedly trapped inside one of the flats, was successfully rescued by firefighters after a tense operation.
Incident Details
The fire reportedly started around 8:30 AM in Tower B of the Green Heights Apartment Complex, possibly due to a short circuit in the kitchen of a third-floor flat. Within minutes, thick plumes of smoke engulfed the corridor and began spreading to nearby units, causing chaos among residents who rushed out of the building.
Several calls were made to the fire department, which dispatched three fire tenders to the location. Teams arrived promptly and began evacuation procedures while simultaneously working to contain the blaze.
Teenager Rescued
In one of the most dramatic moments of the incident, a 15-year-old girl was found trapped inside a smoke-filled room on the fourth floor. Officials said the girl had locked herself in the bathroom in fear and was unable to escape on her own.
“She was found semi-conscious due to smoke inhalation. Our firefighters broke open the door and carried her out using oxygen support,” said Chief Fire Officer Pradeep Kumar. “She is now safe and has been shifted to a nearby hospital for observation.”
No Casualties, Cause Under Investigation
Thankfully, no fatalities or serious injuries have been reported. At least 20 residents were safely evacuated during the firefighting operation. Medical teams on site provided first aid to those affected by the smoke.
The fire was brought under control within an hour, and cooling operations continued through the morning. Authorities have sealed the affected flat and an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the fire.
Residents Raise Concerns
While praising the quick response of emergency services, several residents expressed concerns about fire safety arrangements in the society.
“We were lucky today, but what if the fire had broken out at night? There are no working alarms or sprinklers in many parts of the building,” said Anjali Sharma, a resident of the tower.
The Residents’ Welfare Association (RWA) has demanded a safety audit of all towers and urgent upgrades to firefighting infrastructure in the complex.
Authorities Respond
Local police and Noida Authority officials have assured a detailed probe. “We will ensure accountability and take strict action if negligence is found. Safety audits of similar societies will also be carried out,” said a spokesperson from the Noida Authority.
